Our Wines

The wines we currently have available for purchase are listed below. These are all in the $16-20 per bottle price range, with discounts for case purchases.

2018 DAMAS Zinfandel (DAMAS Vineyard, Fiddletown AVA)

Another full-bodied, complex wine with a bit more tannic structure than the 2016. Exudes boysenberries and black plums and has a smooth texture. Soft tannins and a mouth-coating richness give it plenty of personality. Pairs well with burgers, lasagna, and pizza.

2020 Zinfandel (DAMAS Vineyard, Fiddletown AVA)

Our Zins usually require 4-5 years to settle down and mellow out. But this stellar vintage is precocious. (Mara calls it a ‘frisky puppy’). It’s delightful to drink now but should also hold well in the cellar for 5-10 years. This Zin follows our tradition of rich dark fruit, with a hint of blueberries, herbs, white pepper, and smooth tannins. Full-bodied and balanced, with a creamy texture and a flavorful finish. As with our other Zins, it’s a versatile food wine, which pairs well with red meats, tomato-based dishes, and even spicy foods.

2021 Zinfandel (DAMAS Vineyard, Fiddletown AVA)

This vintage of our estate-grown Zin was made by our friend winemaker Tom Leaf in San Francisco. It carries our vineyard’s classic flavor profile: peppery, dark fruit, smooth tannins. Very promising but not quite ready to drink yet, it will improve with more bottle aging, though it’s pretty darn good with BBQ now.

2022 Viognier (Petaluma Gap AVA)

Winemaker Stewart Johnson was inspired by the Rhone Rangers to plant Rhone varietals in his small Petaluma Gap vineyard. Petaluma Gap is a relatively new AVA  straddling northern Marin and southern Sonoma counties, where a gap in the coastal range allows cool ocean breezes and fog to flow inland, making this one of the cooler California microclimates in which Viognier is grown, lending the wine unique flavors and complexity. This wine is medium- to full-bodied with rich aromas of citrus and honey. It has excellent acidity, with flavors of peach, apricot and almond, a subtle minerality, and a long and nicely balanced finish. It pairs well with shellfish, sea bass, chicken piccata, fish curry, and cheeses.

2022 Rosé of Barbera (Hannah’s Vineyard, Shenandoah Valley AVA)

Barbera is one of Amador County’s standout red wines. This rosé is pale salmon in color, with aromas of rose petal and melon. It brings bright acidity, lively spice-tinged redberry, peach and fresh strawberry flavors with a light minerality. The finish is long, creamy, and complex. This is a perfect picnic wine, but also a serious pairing with a variety of dishes including grilled lobster or chicken, salmon, pesto, and soft cheeses.

2023 Roussanne (Mokelumne River AVA)

Roussanne is a classic Northern Rhone grape, with fewer than 500 acres grown in California. This was sourced from the renowned Hux Vineyard in Lodi and made by wineemaker Eric Hays. It’s medium bodied, with good acidity and a touch of minerality. It has aromas of apricots, lemon blossom, and fresh flowers. The taste is elegant, with lingering hints of lemon and honey. It pairs well with shellfish, fish, chicken, asparagus soufflé.
